Bits Of The Moon

Bits of the moon fall
from a chalkboard sky
into cupped hands
eager to store wonder
in mason jars.

Giggles feed heaven
into glass as eyes twinkle
with firefly reflections.

Imagination, uninhibited
sees God in light bearing wings.

I really enjoyed the images of those reflections and fireflies in jars... how real a fantasy can be.

Well, of course I'm a sucker for poems of the moon, the sky, & dreams -- but how wonderfully whimsical this is, how beautiful your reflection -- like a childhood memory, or maybe fantasy fulfilled. Love. Thanks for sharing.
Really a beautiful write! Full of the wonder of summer and fall and kids!

So pretty, Susie. I can imagine along with those, having done the fireflies in a jar thing when young. My imagination tells me that they are children, it does not stretch to imagining the vision of God. Kids can do that.

what wonderful imagery ~
Imagination can do wonders for kids and one and all. If kids are nurtured like this the world will be beautiful.

I love the whimsey of this poem. I can remember as a child being very fascinated with fireflies. You have captured joy and wonder with your words.
