Into The Rainbow

Come out, come out, whoever you are….

He hears the song of no more closets,
but once a secret steps out into a rainbow
bigotry swoops to deface colors.

He doesn’t know if he’s brave enough
to open a door to sticks and stones
or ride a merry go round of spears.

Love shouldn’t have to wear armor to show affection.

Your last line puts a beautiful rainbow ribbon on the poem

Love the last line

Today is a great day to write a poem about rainbows, given all the hoo-ha about Sochi. Yay, Susie! "Love shouldnt have to wear armor to show affection." Says it all.

Indeed.. love shouldn't have to wear armor. No one should live in a closet. Breaks my heart, the lack of acceptance and tolerance that some endure. We should all speak out against it.

That last line is amazing. I like the way you have amalgamated nursery rhymes into your piece and given them an immediate social context.

I love that last line, Susie ~ In love, there's no need to wear an armor, we should show our rainbow colors freely ~

so dark, as it often can be inside a rainbow.

Again. Crisp and clear. The colors of the rainbow without bigotry.

watching the men's skating competition at Sochi, I can only imagine what some of those young men face ~
