"All I found were memories wearing winter overcoats" I love the words, and the metaphoric imagery of clothing used in this piece. Perfect photo chosen too. Beautiful, Susie.
You are so wonderful with your words finding memories wearing winter coats I think this is how we feel with some memories they feel so cold http://gatelesspassage.com/2011/09/21/remember-the-years/

Your wardrobe references paint an effective picture. Good job.
I love the naked roses pulling at your coat. A wonderful image and original use of personification!

New memories will be created after the snow melts. Store the old ones away in your heart for they make us what we are but take consolance in the fact that with new memories, we will continue to flower and grow :)

Your images are so rich. I could feel every word, Susie! I love your poetry. ♥
Very beautiful poem, Susie. I was anticipating something good, as the title alone is terrific. You've hinted that there is a potential for re-growth and renewal in the depth of winter, but that the winter stillness is so cold and complete, you couldn't find it!

By the way, can you really remember all those things you commented about? You reminded me that, yes, I wore one of those P.O.W. bracelets too.
