I don’t know about
directions anymore.
The maps were stolen
by apps that claim
they know the shortest
path from here to there.
With all the technology
on phones and vehicles
humans have lost their way
to anything not programmed.
I long for folded paper where
destinations are marked
by my fingertips and not an
automated voice that insists
I turn at the next stoplight.
Convenience has its purpose
I suppose, but there are times
the dream needs paper to
guide me to wildflowers.
