Living the Expected ~ #NaPoWriMo2021 ~ Day 4

Intimidator, king of the jungle,

fierce flame brooding on paws,

commands obedience with

each claw etched footprint

marking his passage.

His lion stroll telegraphed

on the wind in scented exclamations

signals prey and foe to hide or face battle.

In the wild rule of expectations he plays

his role with stoic acceptance

the lamb spirit within must live

in the shadow of teeth honed

to the sharpness of enemy.

Love the way you capture the lion in so many different ways.

Lamb spirit ... what a delightful way to go with the image!

One wonders if within the fearsome lion there lies himself as an insecure lamb! Great write.

"the lamb spirit within must live / in the shadow of teeth honed / to the sharpness of enemy." -- Yes, indeed!
