Growing Gold or Accepting Tin

I woo with greener grass
on the other side of the clock.
Everyone dreams in new beginnings
while carrying the weight of never change.

Tick Tock, you are you, move forward or slip back..
The tin you wear doesn’t have to hinder the gold you can become.

If you wish for flowers you never plant, tomorrow
will be as empty as today.

I am a clock you watch and minutes you can’t keep.

Don’t call me a devil if you write plans to fail.
Excuses are more comfortable than forming blisters
while tending your garden of dreams.

Ain't that the truth. One of the biggest blessings in my life was learning early on that if you build a little each day, over time you accomplish a lot. The time will pass anyway, and one can either have something fine when it has, or stand there empty-handed.
