Drops of Rainbow

spring drinks from rainbows
but there is no fairy tale
if the river drowns

every new bloom
counts the seconds ‘til thunder
gardens hold their breath

I love no fairy tale if the river drowns........and the garden holding its breath.

This is deep and lovely Susie. Certainly nature holds no fairy tales. The idea of gardens holding their breath is stunning!

You always infuse a touch of darkness even into poems whose themes tend towards the optimistic. I love that about your pieces, being a cynic myself.

Nature can't exist (at least not in a good way) without balance. I hope the river doesn't engulf everything. I hope thunder controls its rage.

I love the last haiku... it reminds me of how many times the early blooms are taken by frost.

There is real fear in the early spring.

I love the call to reality. May the rivers never drown, Susie. And Happy Birthday!!

I love the pairing of these haiku, Susie, especially the dark tinge of the drowning river and gardens holding their breath.
Well said! We are very familiar here with that kind of weather.

and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam remarks?
If so how do you reduce it, any plugin or anything you can recommend?
