Heart Without Rain

I’ll umbrella the stars,
drink from the moon,
and dance until the sun
robs the night of romance.

Love is a balancing act
better suited to walk
shoeless and blind.

Clarity will come when
vases no longer bleed daises.

This knocked me over, Susie! Let me try to regain my balance. Yes, walk shoeless and blind--otherwise you'd have too much sense to get taken in...again and again.

This is imagery heaven. And your closing is... incredible. I do wonder if clarity and closure and those much needed things will truly come in the end.

"Love is a balancing act" so true, Susie,, and we so often remain waiting a long time for that clarity to come,,very special poem.

This is stellar... especially when vases no longer burn daisies...
it's always a balance,
love is ice and fire, but never tepid.

Love is a powerful tool that is able to mend itself given trying circumstances. Good observation Susie.

we walk right into a story, so well fashioned, the choice to remain shod or walk barefoot is declared - and what an ending! wow - fascinating and gripping Susie :)
Yummy words, as always, creating wonderful images and palpable mood, giving me shivers....

If love is a drunken art, then sober assessments of it ("without rain", "clarity will come when / vases no longer bleed daisies") are doomed to miss its point. Nice sense of internal balance and examination.

This seaside hermit--old lighthouse, lover, artist -- is indeed a "forlorn shore." The first set of images are indeterminate -- as the sea -- while the final ones lock into shore sights we know in our own bleached bones. Nice work.

Superb turn of phrase as usual Susie - your daisy vase is forever imprinted - still raining thouhgts on the use of umbrella as a verb

Firstly, I'd like to say how much I love the title of the poem, and that second stanza is so poignant - it is a poem in its own right.
"when vases no longer bleed daisies" - very cool imagery
Love this, the taking flight of romance before feet have to touch down

Wow, just love this, Susie, especially that super-evocative first stanza. Beautiful!

Aww, the romance of Nature accommodated by Nature. Picnics or love making, what else, in her spirit there's no better. Away from the captured daisies.
