A Tax On Stargazing ~ #NaPoWriMo 2017

Reaching For The Moon ~ Edward Eggleston

Forever is as close as a telescope lens,
as far away as the other side of the universe,
as populated as all the names I’ve forgotten.

We humans have always wished for wings
and yet celebrate leaving footprints on the moon.
I wonder how long it will be before greed places a tax on stargazing.

I love that first line. No room for faith that a thing exists when out of sight though. Still, I like the idea of forever being seen.

You make such a good point! We wish for wings but cannot escape the ground beneath our feet - whether on Earth or the Moon.

I think that there will be less stargazing if the current path to embrace coal goes through...
maybe I would prefer a tax on stargazing

It seems sometimes we want to fly but are afraid to allow ourselves the freedom, a tax on star gazing would not be surprising,,,

Didn't see that coming. (let's not tempt revolution too much)

There soon may be a tariff on imported stargazing.

We seem to want everything. And too many times, while we are wanting... we forget how much we love what we already have.
