Such a Doll

Ziegfeld Girls ~ Alfred Cheney Johnston

You’re such a doll,
stuffed with sass
and bad habits.

I want to steal
your impudence,
lace up in naughty.

You snub your nose
at the corset of compliance
laced into Adam’s rib.

I need a touch of rebellion,
a little hell on my tongue,
and a match that knows who to burn.

So good! Especially liked "You snub your nose
at the corset of compliance
laced into Adam’s rib."

This is nicely, tightly sung, Susie. Elegant sass. No wonder we need familiars, if just for invocations like these. I think you poured two neat fingers of that hootch.

It is good to be having a mind of one's own and to be reveling in some adventures in life!

This is bringing it to a head. Not advisable to mess around when such a reaction may prove disastrous!
