Three Sisters of Philosophy

1822 David Sulzer ~ Portrait of three young girls

Temptation is a soft bed until you lie on it.

Life is too hard…No matter how much whine
is spilled, the cup never empties.

It isn’t about why you fell. It is about where
you chose to land.

Your wordplay is a world of fun! Love the spilling whine so much. Almost as much as all the places the "lie", in the first line, can take us. ♥

not sure I always get to choose where to land... but I get the sense of it ~

Have to agree with De, the word play with "whine" is fabulous in this setting

Ah, what excellent commentary and I love the painting you chose too.

Surely the secret of philosophy in poetry is doing so much with so little, Susie. This would have been not enough with two verses, and too much with four--exquisite and sharp as a knife. thanks for participating.
