A Garden Grows

The morning drinks
another cup of horror.
and some gather at
the knee of bigotry
to add salt to wounds.

A garden grows what is planted.
Cameras seek a field of weeds
to help spread hate’s seeds on the wind.

Tongues never think of the harvest.

Those seeds are so easy to seed but the weed the follows is so hard to uproot... Like a wildfire...

So sad to read of another scene of mayhem and bloodshed in the news today. Your words have such a ring of truth to them.

I love the first two lines... but I don't see how bigotry has anything to do with what happened in Brussels... If anything, it unites the world together to fight evil. But I'm sure I misinterpreted it. I've been thinking of this horror all day and have hugged my 8 year old at least 25 times - he is a good sport and lets me.

Oh this made me catch my breath, Susie.......drinking another cup of horror, the bigotry and no one thinking about the harvest.....you nailed it.

This was so much better than what I wrote - on the same topic I guess. Thanks for sharing this.

Cameras telling the weeds! Like Little Red Hen, who will help me chop the weds? I'm afraid to hear the answer of her 'friends'.

We post to this forum from such a wide world which unites through events like those in Belgium yesterday. From geographic and poetic vantages: what to do, what to say? This is a awesome yet awful clutch of those flowers.
