The Song Of A Rose

She blossoms in the
tile echo of midnight
and the needle drip
of medicine seeking
a vein to riddle.

When the valley seems too long
her voice steals the breath from doubt
to fill the air with the music of healing.

A beautiful porcelain skin rose
she transcends the concrete garden
where why never finds an answer
and sings a new song of morning.

Beautiful poem, beautiful voice and ... she is one of those rare people that look beautiful with no hair. Just stunning.

The beauty of your daughter is profound. But though she's beautiful without her hair I wish for her full hair to return.
She is indeed a beautiful blossom. May she bloom long and strong!

"Beauty heals" could be my brother's epitaph -- his love of beauty lives on, at least -- the purity and haunting permanence of flowers blossoms here too, stronger than the garden of loss. Amen.

In moments of trial, we find strength in our roots, and from the light of all who surround us. In spite of all she is going through, your daughter is truly beautiful, inside and out; her own light shines from her face, her smile, the spark in her eyes. As difficult as it is for her to be ill, I know as a mom that you carry the weight of her pain also. Thank you for sharing her beautiful photo and voice with us. Prayers for your lovely daughter, and for you and the rest your family. Remember to take care of yourself, too.

This poem is as strong and as sweet and beautiful as your daughter's voice, and the inner light which gives her her song in spite of that cold concrete garden whose blooms are few. Thinking of you both.

"Where why never finds an answer" - but she sings her hopeful song of morning nevertheless. What a beauty she is, Susie. She must take your breath away. She does mine. Her song is so beautiful.

Ohhhh. Just wonderful. Love the double meaning offered in "mo(u)rning," and that "why" never answered. So sadly true, and all too often. This is a lovely, touching take on the prompt.

sometimes, like here, more light shines through than can be held by dry eyes, and so they moisten, to soften the brilliance... ~
