Painted Ladies ~ Jennifer MacNeil
Whispers of yesterday
cling to the paint
in porcelain curls.
Faces once admired
and captured in art
are now lost to anonymity.
Brooches sturdier than bones
have survived beauty’s death
only to lie among a collector’s questions.
