Floral Emissaries

Asphalt
grooved by
pilgrim’s feet
snakes through blossoms.

Rainbows growing
as far as the eye can see
renew spirits weary
from war’s dirge
sung over marble stones.

Painted by divine brush strokes
the flowering emissaries of peace
reach into the soul to disarm anger
with seedlings of peace.

Oh. My. Gorgeous.

I just love the flow throughout and the rich imagery you bring to this really enhances this image wonderfully, Susie.

Thank you for writing today! :)

Your metaphors are always so deep and incredible, Susie. The soul of a butterfly :-)

These lines particularly convey the Japanese theme to me.

Beautiful Susie. I think we should all go out and plant some peace seeds now!

snakes through... which is kind of a warning - but then it is painted "divine" and ends in peace. Nice!

The words wind as sinuously and vividly as the paths, Susie, and whether the way to peace is paved or not, I know it's this beautiful.
