Finally Reaching Someday

I was a middle child
pulled between
not old enough
and no longer the baby.

Divided until I learned
what it meant to be whole
left a path of teardrops
from heart to dreams.

Finally reaching someday
I no longer look back
at what was, but live
the joy of who I am.

"not old enough and no longer the baby" I've seen that be a tough spot to be in family dynamics, even in families without a severe amount of dysfunction! I love the strength and perspective of your final words...not letting the past rob you of joy today. A wonderful and healthy perspective and one I think I need more of sometimes!

I think no matter where we are in the child ladder, we all feel some level of disadvantage and advantage. Glad you found yourself.
