The Music of Your Voice #WWUC @NWCreativeUnion

Whether windy or still
your voice speaks
through wind chimes
in my garden.

The primitive chimes
are the works of your hands,
tuned by the song you heard
that summer day you
joined metal and wire.

Father, I miss you.
When my heart wishes
you could return,
I step out my back door
and listen to your chimes
playing the melody of home.

Joanne Elliot at New World Creative Union prompted us on this week's
Wednesday Wake-Up Call to remember our ancestors.
I was missing my father today so I chose to write about him.

How beautiful, wonderful to have reminders hand made and gifted. That it makes music in the wind like your father's voice through time and space is magical. http://chromamisc.com/2012/10/31/transmigration/

this is truly lovely!
So lovely Susie. I miss my father too. That simple and straight forward line: "Father, I miss you," brought tears because there is nothing truer. My father was a maker of things, too. It's so nice to have remembrances in the things made by those no longer in this world...and to have wind chimes that maybe are rustled to song by the wind...by your father. Hugs!

Really touching remembrance Susie. I love wind chimes and you just added a whole plethora of possible meanings each time they shake and make their wonderful chimes. Thanks
