Where Is The Love

Where Is the Love by The Black Eyed Peas on Grooveshark

Where Is The Love

Harmony's spring
rained red hearts.

Love fell unconditional,
free, passionate.

It was to be planted in purity
to dispel hate.

But it was harvested by philosophies stipulations…
believe like me…my way is the only way….

Hate’s weeds were seeded in love’s garden.
Its thorny words destroying tender hearts.

Strip away religion’s garments to bare its iniquity.
A people of peace cannot wear the armor of war.

Stop laying the blame on they and speak the truth of I.
I have failed love by the words of my prejudice.

Cleanse your voice of its division
and speak words to encourage unity.

If we are the world, then we must be its salvation.
Look down at your own feet to see where the road to peace begins.

Let us be the hands of compassion to reseed hope.
that love will grow once again without conditions.

If all religion was cast aside. If all the money was burned. Then, we'd find the love once more.
Lovely thoughts, if only we could all do it.

Oh, yes, you've put it right out there Susie! "Hate's weeds were seeded in love's garden." You've hit the nail on the head!

And so true, "If we are the world, then we must be its salvation."

Certainly a 'Wake-Up call,' was sounded in your composition! Hopefully, it will be heard!

Right on! I watched and listened and then read and I found the whole experience brilliant. "Look down at your own feet to see where the road to peace begins" Amen.

WOW! My favorite of yours, Susie. The trailer was riveting, intense, and so moving.......I must try to watch the movie though am sure it will be heartbreaking. I LOVE your lines to look down at our feet to see where the path of peace begins. Simply spectacular writing.

My GOD! (No pun!) Susie...I'm left with goosebumps...and the thought that with writes like this...maybe we get get folks to pull their heads out of their you know whats and realize we've got one world...one chance...let's lift invisible and fabricated prejudices and live by that knot in our gut that so many of us have been taught not to trust...that's how we should be living...we need no idols, rule books or anything else...compassion, conscious, heart...Yay you! Sorry for the essay but I seriously thought it just fantastic!

good stuff, Suzie. wreck of a week causing late comments...
'my way is the only way'
pretty much sums up the status of our world,
no compromise, no discussion, no listening.
well done.
