Reality Wake Me

I stand
plucking petals
a childish game of hope,
does he love me or does he not,
shameless
self induced heartbreak consuming
my thoughts, my emotions,
reality
wake me

Susie, visiting you from "Imaginary Gardens." Sometimes it is nice when reality awakens one, and sometimes it is good to just enjoy the dreams. Love this write, Susie.

This form seems to embody the thoughts perfectly. Such thoughts as one would hold dear, and secret, close to the heart. In other words: just beautiful.

Even after knowing nothing will change...the childish game somehow raises hope...but alas the reality always struck painfully
so true emotions embedded in your few lines :)

Lovely verse - I think the butterfly is perfect for your poem's content. And these "childish games of hope"... sigh, it seems we never quite outgrow them.
