a kiss from the wind
turned a spark into hell’s rage
drought feeds the dragon

Prompt Day 6: Kiss

(On a personal note. I live in Texas. The drought has caused our state to be a huge tinderbox. There have been many fires resulting in loss of life, property and forest. We pray for rain!)

Short and punchy....
the kind of poem one remebmbers long after reading it.
The kind of poem I cannot seem to write...

Very poignant. Best of luck to all of you in the face of the fire. I hope you never have to experience living after a disaster.

The Kiss
Kiss me. Liquefy
my bones until I puddle
like spilled honey. Chase

my rolling sweetness
down and claim it with your teeth.
Breathe deep of my dark

sandalwood and smoke,
but don't choke on my embers.
Kiss me to my knees.
