Spring come remove
the cloud of death
surrounding me.
Bring bright blooms
sprouting from green grass,
not the vases of funeral flowers
adorning coffins.
I have said too many goodbyes.
Pieces of my heart torn
and buried in the dust.
My soul a trunk of memories
digging through what was,
trying to escape the grief.
Spring you are my prayer;
my hope I can be renewed.
Send your sunshine
to help me crawl out of the dark.
the cloud of death
surrounding me.
Bring bright blooms
sprouting from green grass,
not the vases of funeral flowers
adorning coffins.
I have said too many goodbyes.
Pieces of my heart torn
and buried in the dust.
My soul a trunk of memories
digging through what was,
trying to escape the grief.
Spring you are my prayer;
my hope I can be renewed.
Send your sunshine
to help me crawl out of the dark.
