Star Wishes

I say goodnight
counting the stars.
Which one is yours?
You left me too soon.

Oh that I could
have three wishes.
They would all be
please come back to me.

I miss your hugs,
the smell of earth
and hard work,
your voice
saying hello.

Peace whispers to me
you are gone
but you did not
leave me alone.

Somewhere in the night sky
you are watching,
smiling as you speak
your three wishes over me.

This is lovely, Susie. So soft, sweet and reassuring.

Susie, this is beautifully poignant, strongly felt. I have someone about whom I feel the same.

This is gorgeous. It's so sad, but at the same time gently hopeful, or at least reconciled.

The stars stand for so many things in our imaginations: a beacon, a guide and the watchful eyes of one who has gone away.
Such a tenderly written poem, this is.

And we wish upon a star...
may the stars of our poems keep twinkling to our loved lost ones.
