Clamoring thoughts stop your torment
I would have a moment’s peace
Your noise is deafening
My mind will not decide
On the direction it wants to take
It is a collection of disparate pieces
Joy and sorrow sit at the same table
With bitter and forgiveness
The invited guest along with the uninvited
Even what I had for dinner
Seems to linger in my memory
My body has digested what my mind can not
There must be a place of calm inside of me
But I seem to be without a guide
To help me through the maze
I would have a moment’s peace
Your noise is deafening
My mind will not decide
On the direction it wants to take
It is a collection of disparate pieces
Joy and sorrow sit at the same table
With bitter and forgiveness
The invited guest along with the uninvited
Even what I had for dinner
Seems to linger in my memory
My body has digested what my mind can not
There must be a place of calm inside of me
But I seem to be without a guide
To help me through the maze
