How Do I Thank Angels

This is not enough to say to all who have prayed for me and wished me well, but it is all I have. This song kept playing through my mind as I lie in my bed of pain. If you are not familiar with it, please listen and even if you are please listen again. This speaks of all you have done for me. I am still healing, and a lot of pain is in my hands which are the instruments to share my poetry so please pray for their complete healing.

How Do I Thank Angels

How do you thank angels?
Words are so inadequate
in a universe that knocked
on heaven’s doors
beseeching God on my behalf.

Sweet spirits spoke my name
in well wishes and petitions for healing.
Their lips of kindness piercing
the shroud of my pain.

People who only know me
from my written words
linked arms with family and friends
to stand in the gap preventing me
from succumbing to the darkness that engulfed me.

Their angel wings lifted my husband
to give him the strength to care for me
when I lie helpless as a newborn.
They wrapped around him when
he held me in my despair.

I don’t know how to thank angels.
My prayer is they know my heart is humbled
and full of gratitude for all they have done.
Two words must suffice for all my spirit contains.
Thank you.

SUSIE!!!!! How SPECTACULAR to see a post from you. It sounds like you are still mending, but must have improved somewhat. You have been through a frightening passage. Charlie must have been terrified too. A reminder of just how precious life is, and of how precious everyone is to one another.

Rest easy, kiddo. May the last of the pain leave your hands and slowly, step by step, may you walk back into the sunshine towards normal life when this bad time can be left behind.

I don't know what your illness is Susie but, can see it gave you a great deal of pain and much to cope with. So happy to see that you are improving now and able to write again.
It is heartwarming to know that there are other people out there who perhaps, we may never meet and yet, we know they pray for us. It is so uplifting that sharing of love.
Wonderful tribute to your 'Angels'

oooh Susie it is so good to see you! and i know, too, the part about being helpless as a newborn. that is frightening but can also be uplifting, allowing others, like your wonderful husband, to care for you. as Sherry said, please please continue to rest so that you will be quite well again soon. love to you.

Susie, I found your blog at Real Toads. Reading through the comments, I see you have had the support of many poetic angels as well, many prayers. Your husband is a rock, and I hope you will accept my prayers for you both and let him see the poem posted at the link below, because it's for him. Peace, Amy Barlow Liberatore

Dear Susie - so so sorry you are in such pain. You have a lovely poem, but that just sounds awful. Especially hand pain. Good luck. k.

ah, but angels require no thanks and prayers are free. :-)
Hope the healing progresses.

Beautiful prayer-song in print, and beautiful song in the video, and you too-another beautiful song. I am very happy that you feel surrounded by love and God and your Husband's strength and the prayers of family, friends, and poets both known and unknown. I add my voice to the prayers for you-- to be up and around with little pain and a lot of strength.

Carry on
carry on
love is coming
love is coming

So nice to see you back, Susie! That itself is telling us you're going on strong. A good rest is therapeutic. That helped tremendously I would think. Very well crafted verse!
