a kiss from the wind
turned a spark into hell’s rage
drought feeds the dragon

Great post and very appropriate for Texas right now.
Short and punchy....
the kind of poem one remebmbers long after reading it.
The kind of poem I cannot seem to write...
Very poignant. Best of luck to all of you in the face of the fire. I hope you never have to experience living after a disaster.
Phew, the damage one spark can do, I'm praying for rain too!
How unfortunate when the outcome is disastrous.

P/S thanks for visiting
What a havoc it can bring... yes!
Hope rain comes soon ~
May the dragon flee from Texas soon!

The Kiss
Kiss me. Liquefy
my bones until I puddle
like spilled honey. Chase
my rolling sweetness
down and claim it with your teeth.
Breathe deep of my dark
sandalwood and smoke,
but don't choke on my embers.
Kiss me to my knees.
