In A Moment

In a moment of love
we transcended the
judgment beating
at the door.

In a moment of love
nothing mattered
but the song freeing
us from pain.

In a moment of love
we were changed
in the chorus.

In a moment of love
you kept us from seeing
the wolf tearing away
your tomorrows.

That wolf - I like the image of the love preventing us from seeing him.. Yes love can be blind.

you know, this evokes for me some questions i have & things i know & don't know about Freddie's life... on thing for sure, out of love, he hid from all of us his disease. i wonder if in 1986 (the time of this concert) whether he was yet diagnosed, or when that happened. certainly he went on to perform many, many times with spectacular talent and flair, before he left us. looking back, you can see the signs of the illness in some of his performances and interviews. did we willfully ignore that? or did we not know? and he steadfastly refused until the last moment to say it. so tragic, sooooo tragic, so fascinating, too.
i love your poem, which seems to me to have a specific focus (or two) and great universality as well.

A moment of love is all it takes, and even if the wolves are at the door, some how it gives one courage to face them.
