Strange

You shouldn’t have…
Well, I did…

Tattoos are disgusting.
Have you seen mine?

You’re the only one on the dance floor!
I don’t care…

What’s with all those pens?
I love ink.

Act your age!
Is this an audition?

You’re so strange.
Thank you for noticing!

Yeah, screw 'em if they can't take a joke, Susie. I love your reinterpretation of the old saying 'Attitude is everything.' ;_)

The unexpected does through some people - I adore when a person has the guts to just enjoy music - and dance even if they are the only ones! Perfect "weird" poem… but really NOT weird - it's called enjoying life.

Amen to that. I love the back and forth. You know, I always admire this attitude in others. But I just can't seem to apply it to myself. I'm typically ashamed of my "strange" rather than allowing myself to embrace it. I suppose it's because my husband is in ministry, so I feel like I'm on display. Like I'm begging people to judge me. But the worst part is that people rarely do it. I'm the one creating the angst inside my head. I wonder what would happen if I just said "screw it" and did as I pleased? :)

Thank you! And screw it, I am going to have a small, discreet treble clef tattooed on my shoulder! Celebrate 73!

This made me smile........reminds me of my friend who replies, "Thank you" whenever anyone says it's such a beautiful day! hee hee.

I'm still smiling (again), Susie. :) Seems like we are sort of like you. Spouses and mates generally are opposites? I think this goes for strangeness/weirdness for sure. (My ex-roommate and I were both off, him weird, me strange)
Conversation just before lunch today:
- Where are the scissors?
- I have them up here but I'm through using them now, I will bring them down.
- No, I will just use a knife.
- I'm coming down, I'll meet you on the landing.
- No, don't. (meeting on the landing) Thank you.
- You're welcome, you never would have gotten that opened with a knife.

Susie, this is one of those pieces I wish I had written. Love the feisty tone, the truth of it, the simplicity that speaks of issues so complex that we spend an entire lifetime trying to figure them out.
