I Will Dance On Your Silence

Pour salt in my wounds
and I will best you by healing.

My life is too short to carry
a gallon of tears on my chest.

If you swallow your tongue
from the bloat of your words,
I will dance on your silence.

I am no longer petals begging for light,
but a blossomed flower in full sun.

Pouring salt in wounds is a terribly cruel thing to do, literally or as the saying goes.
You portrayed a winner here very nicely, I was rooting for her all the way.

Sooner or later you have to go on and go deaf to hurtful words. Let him choke on his tongue

This is just an amazing piece of writing, Susie. What I like most is he fact that each stanza could stand alone, but they also hang together to make a powerful statement. I would like to try this myself.
I apologise for commenting several days late, but have been without my internet service.

The kind of rebel that I am exactly! I'd rather be my best in front of those trying to bring me down than be anything else.
Very true and very straight forward, I like it!
