The Blackberry Switch

Night sleeps,
but it never forgets.
The blackberry switch
will bruise dreams
until morning finds
wicked tied in bed sheets.

Beware if evil stains your palms.
It will be the blood map guiding
judgment to your doorstep.

Hiya susie...this piece is refined to the point of intrigue. I could meander among any lines and debate the significance...well done and viva la

Oh the wickedness of our electronic servants and toys !!!
I love this one. A secret, I go to sleep each night reading a Kindle Book from iPad instead of sleep timing the TV. (Be sure to lock the page in the 'upright' position or it will curse you the whole time.)

'Night sleeps but never forgets" is a killer line, Susie. The whole poem does a great deal with very few words, and leaves the taste of old sins, old suffering, and old curses behind it. Great take on the challenge.

This is why I sleep with a duvet, no top sheet, and a fitted bottom sheet. Cackle.

There is such a sense of foreboding, particularly in the warning of the blood map!

Oooh this one stings, Suzie. Excellent in its emotive weight and nuanced meaning.

This poem gave me the shivers. Night sleeps but never forgets - will have to sleep with the night light on tonight!
Suzie, this really speaks to me. I know readers bring their own stuff to a reading but this was very evocative for me. Dark and haunting.
