Sticky Notes Or Dreams

Chance has no history
to learn from, or prayers
to answer. It can’t predict
the who and when of favor.

It’s the thin air of possibility
where we attach sticky notes
hoping fate can read
our handwriting.

Dreams on the other hand
require sturdy boots
and resolve to trek the
stony ground of question marks.

Very true. We need great bravery to walk on the road of dreams.

I'm a great one for sticky notes so the second stanza really resonates with me.

Very cool. Great metaphors! I may need stronger boots. K.

This is a lovely chewy piece, Susie--I enjoyed your metaphors especially(sticky notes!), and it's so easy to let the question marks trip us up--those boots come in handy.
