Becoming One

Mystery, by Odilon Redon

In the
veil of
mystery
answers
float in
water
colored air
becoming
one with
questions.

Patient,
listening,
they wait
for trust
to lift its
petitions
and make
its destination
known.

Secured
to the lips
of prayer
they ride
waves of faith
carrying answers
to the center
of the soul.

So beautiful, Susie, and it lifts right off in the final stanza.

Really lovely, Susie. Works so beautifully with or without the painting. Thanks. K.

Such a lovely poem of faith, where questions and answers become one. A beautiful accompanyment to the picture.

This poem really does speak of centredness to me - of being centred, I mean and your format is the perfect vehicle for those thoughts.

Form and subject merge perfectly here, Susie, and that painting is such a gateway to your meaning--answers floating and becoming one with questions--you give lucent names to the symbols here without violating their mystery in the least. Thanks for this beautiful poem of love and hope, and for participating.

…and off they float - this is soft and a gentle poem to those who hope their prayers are heard.
