Silence Is

Silence is the voice
that reaffirms
who you are
when noise
badgers with
who it wishes
you to be.

mmmmmmmmmmmm

Silence is the music of peace
sung in harmony with your spirit.

mmmmmmmmmmmm

Silence is a poet
sitting in the dark
praying inspiration
will turn the light on.

mmmmmmmmmmmm

Silence is the inhaling of hope
when hopeless sends its
drowning waves.

Susie...each verse is awesome, but the first speaks to me quite loudly...in spite of the prompt ;) Your quote and image are perfection! Love it...and much enjoyed the wake up!

Silence is so hard to find. I have a very chatty Monkey Mind which loves to remind me of everything I should be doing.

Silence is a door, for sure, and every image in this poem is a beautiful bead in a necklace. I like the image of it being a poet--though I think it is a tool to bring a greater poet to us.

Silence is so important.. yet sometimes it cannot turn the light on.. silence can reaffirm, or leave us in doubt. wise words Susie...

WOW to them all but I relate much to the first one.

I couldn't agree with you any more on the fact that silence is needed for inspiration some days. I personally enjoy having music on in the background to spark my creativity, but I only listen to specific tunes that will inspire me. Classical music for instance.

This wonderful selection, especially the first one, leaves me yearning for meditation... for that feeling of oneness between flesh, spirit and the energy that makes every living thing. Thanks for that. ♥

Most people don't know what silence is.
Or are fearful of it.

In silence we find our inner self. Loved the first verse. Happy 2015.
