Let
me leap into tranquility
to
wash discord’s darkness
from
my spirit.
I
wish to swim in joy,
dive
into its depths
and
rise reborn.
My
heart is broken
by the
pain spawned
with
dogma’s damnation.
Love
comes pure
and
then the
self
righteous
debase
it.
I
pray the book of
Thou Shalt Not
will
cease its stoning.
Baptize
me in the river of peace
that
I may walk in love
and
be an instrument of unity.

Oh wow, I love this.. You really put your soul into the depths of it..Blessings
The river of peace, love it !
I really enjoyed this poem on many levels. I love the line "Let me leap into tranquility" How I would love to do just that. And the words "pain spawned with dogma’s damnation" struck a chord too. Heart felt and well done.
Oh, I do understand the praying the book of "Thou Shalt Not" will cease its stoning and the hope for baptism in the river of peace. This is a very depthful poem, one of my favorites of yours!
I wish to swim in joy,

Beautiful way of expression and expectation. To be reborn happy is everyone's wish! Nicely Susie!

This is lovely, Susie. What a pleasure to swim in this river of peace. And love does come pure...so beautiful.
the 3rd and 5th stanzas were especially lovely.very well written.kudos!
How lovely Susie ~ I like peace and tranquility of your words ~
Absolutely beautiful. "Baptize me in peace"......especially relevant is "I pray the book of Thou Shalt Not will cease its stoning." Fantastic writing!
Wow Susie
You touched upon so many fragile thoughts and then cleansed us!
It was beautiful~
I tried to post earlier and couldn't...
Glad I could, now! :D
Almost devotional or sermonesque in tone, admirably tight in construction--it's fine work.
The image of a baptism in peace is wonderful, this poem's evocative justification.
This is the "Word" I want to follow. This is the "WAY" I want to preach. Susie...just a stunning example of how so many of us long for the same...down with the dogma to a new world of acceptance and love. Unity...yes! Thank you so very much for sharing your words, your vision.
A river of peace, yes. May we all make it there.
"Baptize me in the river of peace
that I may walk in love
and be an instrument of unity."
You have created an instant quote Susie! I hope to see it in a few places! Good stuff echoing my sentiments exactly!
Roger ☺
