Flight of a Bouquet

a flower
named weed by science
is magic
to a child
who sees her mother’s bouquet
grow wings and take flight

Kerry at Real Toads has given us a mini challenge to
write a Shadorma using the beautiful macro photography
of her daughter, Jaime Clark.
The Shadorma is:
1. a hexastich, a poem in 6 lines
2. syllabic, 3-5-3-3-7-5 syllables per line.
3. unrhymed.

I feel the need to clap my hands! A dandelion never loses its magic for me, so I love the way you linked both mother and child in these lines.

I LOVE this. We once had a perfect yard when we lived in Indiana. Not a weed to be seen, and lush, thick green "carpet" for a lawn. A friend of my daughter's said who lucky she was to have pretty yellow flowers in her yard, and she thought we should get some too! :)

oooh this is fantastic! it gives me shivers. so much meaning... what we call weeds, but so much more the enormous implication of the mother's bouquet that grows wings and takes flight! ooooh, susie, you have outdone yourself (and maybe the rest of us) with this one. applause!

Charming, and full of heart, and the inner meaning we always try to find when we write--here it shines right through. Beautiful, Susie.

Bows! Encore! More and more seedy parachuting flying dandelions!
One of my friends wrote a song about how "any friend of dandelions is a friend of mine," their tenacity, their true beauty. We used to make those bouquets for mom, too. Lovely, illuminating poem. Peace, Amy
