Bell Bottom Flashbacks

Clean the seeds,
roll it tight,
smoke the high.

Tiny pills,
leave eyes wide,
impossible sleep.

Mind swirls
in a purple
haze.

Phantoms
dance
in strobe lights

Waist length hair
catches the wind,
born to be wild.

Bell bottom flashbacks

Yeah, I still pine for my bell bottoms. Oh, the nostalgia of this!

Yeah miss clevenger! You took me to a time I always wanted to experience! (although I have had a brush with the smoke- not so much the pills- I'd probably go bonkers)....this just filled my head with Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, all that good hearty American rock....and to put in that picture- just great....again, this just reinforces for me the importance of music in mile marking our lives.... Born to be wild- a feeling we ALL need to hang on too!
Call that Bellbottoms? :-)
Mine were three times that wide. Actually, there are signs of the silly hems coming back in. How many decades ago was this again?
I had to laugh and it reminded me of my red MGB.

Oh yeah! Party at Susie's! I love that song, and "Black Coffee" and "I Don't Need No Doctor." I used to listen to GFR and AC/DC and Edgar Winter's White Trash. Heck yeah. Of course, I also listened to Mary Hopkin and Rita Coolidge and Bette Midler, so I was, and am, kind of all over the place.

As I read this, I felt that I was going backwards in time.

I loved this. Most of my favourite songs are from this gone era and I am always pretty much mystified by the ideas, the dresses, everything that belonged to this time. So much has changed since then, frankly, I wasn't even born back then. Haha.

Wonderful poem.
