“This above all, to thine own self be true” Hamlet ~ William Shakespeare
bind the false breathing
that speaks lies against yourself
your words should be truth
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
above all be true
to self and murmur not lies
be your champion
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
do not play falsely
but be true to thine own self
speak with honesty
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
know this above all
wise is he who knows himself
and keeps his restraint
Oh I love your haiku... Especially the one that talks about knowing yourself and having restraint. That totally appeals to me.. I know what exactly that means. But it is so hard to follow..
I loved your last one very much... True words Susie..
