Sharpened claws
and whiskered nose,
a feline warrior
keeps watch with
sleepy eye camouflage.
Each shadow noise
reaches attentive ears,
Ninja paws ready to strike.
In the carpeted wild
of the domestic jungle
this striped fur ball
is queen.

Ah, wow. A beautiful poem. Your words fit well with the photograph and the feline's pose. The last four lines were my favourite - a perfect ending.
"the carpeted wild of the suburban jungle"... love that, because, to them, that's what it seems to be!
Long live the, er, King! ;-)
Cats have that ultra-serious aura a lot(except when they act like complete goofuses.) You get the spirit of the photograph, and the regal pose just perfectly here.
This is wonderful!
I lovely Ode to Stripey! This cat knows how to stay in the limelight.
"Ninja paws" - that is so neat and so accurate. Stripey is okay with being Queen for a Day (he's a boy). Any royal title keeps him happy :)
Oh, I love this. Cats are so much themselves, never trying to be anyone or anything else, because they know they reign.

Yes... our pets really do rule the house don't they?
In the carpeted wild of the domestic jungle. Love this line! Nicely done!
HA HA. Indeed our pets rule our homes, but this particular pictured cat TRULY does not look like a warrior to me. Smile.
ha.. the carpeted wild Just Great stuff!
Thanks guys...I just love this picture of Stripey...the king that he is :)
"carpeted wild" - "shadow noise"
