Feathers Appear Twice

Beauty Tied

 Beauty tied
 with a grieving band
to the feathered death
of individuality.
Killed by a noxious ale
of conformity’s interpretation
deftly administered in
small doses until unique
had a metamorphosis
into a replica of
brainwashed perception.
A bright light
now diffused
by originality’s surrender.

Feathers of Immortality

Beauty sleeps
on angel down,
gathered feathers
of immortality.
A body caught
in a photographic wink
now tied to artistic eternity.

nice...i think i like the first the best actually...i hope i never fall into that comformity where originality is lost...easy to lose ones voice in mimicry...

Thank you Brian...I hope to never "conform" either.

Very lovely poems, both. I love the image of the black "grieving band." Reminds me of those armbands you used to see.

There's an added giggle waiting for you on the Year of the Dragon, if you have time to take a second look? Thanks for dropping by yesterday and leaving a comment for Trellissimo et al. :)

Rare words alright. Feathered death of individuality stretched the mind.
