Broken Norma Jean

Her smile brilliant as the diamonds
that wound in serpentine sparkle
around her beautiful neck.
Hidden beneath glitter
named Marilyn was
the sadness of
a broken
Norma
Jean.

When I had seen this pic, I had so wanted to write something that included the string of jewels.... :) as is expected, i cudnt come up wid anything....:p

i love this piece... especially coz it's not just a vague description of happiness or sadness... it's a real tribute to Marilyn....

wat form of poetry is this? i mean the decreasing number of syllables....

I've never heard of a Nonnet, it is such an alluring form befitting the subject. Well done!

That´s sad! Well written.
I love the sinister image "serpentine sparkle" suggests as a metaphor of self destruction. "...glitter named Marilyn..." perfectly punctuates the image I see through your words.

Rick, thank you. When I saw the photo prompt I immediately thought temptation wrapping itself around Marilyn until it destroyed her.
