Black Robe of Judgement

Do you think your
words sacred
because you
were given
the blessing
to condemn?
A black robe
of judgment
worn as if
it were an honor.
My feet walk a path
yours have never trod,
yet you would
give me directions.

Cease your claims
of only wishing
the best for me.
It is prefaced
with demands
I surrender my will
to the control of yours.

If this is the love
that shines
through stained glass,
I prefer the glow
of neon streets.
