At reading this evocative piece, Susie, I actually utter aloud "What do you mean, silent movies without captions?" I so loved the inference, the image, I wanted to know more, more, more!
Wowwwww....holy hell, the last lines are slapped me awake. The sad part is there are so many people who feel this way about their lives. If I could, I would take them all to Mexico for shots at the palapa bar on the beach.....we would become fast friends I think.Killer poem Susie.

"My dreams are
silent movies
without captions."
that's brilliant!
They knew how to act then too. All those over-done scenes of fear, and happiness because they had no voices. Loved them! Love ALL the old movies.
"My dreams are silent movies without captions." WOW! Incredible writing.
ain't that the truth. The lips are moving, but I have no idea.....

What an interesting way to think of dreams denied. I really like this.
I agree with the others. "silent movies without captions" is a wonderful phrase, Susie. Good stuff!
