Winter

Image ~ Wiki Commons

Winter walks in its icicle boots
through the gray morning
leaving tufted snow footprints.

Hot chocolate smiles
decorate frosted glass
as children peer out windows.

The brown grass of yesterday
hides under piles of snowflakes,
their glitter blinding the eye.

First snow a celebration,
voices cry, “Come see,
Mother Nature is dressed in white!”

As a kid I would sit at my beroom window when the skies turned gray and stare for hours at the black felt paper on the chicken pen to get a glimpse of the snow flakes before they had a chance to hit the gorund. I so loved the snow...especially when it was falling. Loved this Susie...Happy Holidays!!!!
