Winter walks
in its icicle boots
through the
gray morning
leaving tufted
snow footprints.
Hot chocolate
smiles
decorate
frosted glass
as children
peer out windows.
The brown
grass of yesterday
hides under
piles of snowflakes,
their glitter
blinding the eye.
First snow a
celebration,
voices cry, “Come
see,
Mother Nature
is dressed in white!”

Beautiful picture love the snowy days,Great poem
So lovely to read this beautiful portrait of winter - I feel quite envious of your white Christmases!
As a kid I would sit at my beroom window when the skies turned gray and stare for hours at the black felt paper on the chicken pen to get a glimpse of the snow flakes before they had a chance to hit the gorund. I so loved the snow...especially when it was falling. Loved this Susie...Happy Holidays!!!!
still waiting for snow here in Massachusetts.... love your poem, Susie, full of pining and joy.
This is so lovely - the photo beautiful. I especially love the image of winter walking in "its icicle boots". Cool! Love the kids' hot chocolate smiles on the window.
Your palette is winter-ideal. Your scene one of comfort and contentedness. I like the way your paint with words!
