Frozen

The words that came so readily would not come
A heart so full of love felt cold
The sunshine brightness of my soul now a dark loneliness
My words my heart my sunshine lie frozen in me

I longed only to please you to bring you joy
But all attempts brought rejection
Icicle daggers that pierced my heart

Cold winter with its chilling breeze lay upon my heart
Love once returned now encased in frosty silence
Frozen longing praying for warmth

I will not survive this frozen fourth season void of feeling
Breathing icy air that leaves love in a barren wasteland
Please may a warm heart come thaw me
That I may feel love again
