The Clothing of Trees

Summer’s green decorating wooded timber
With sunlight warmth
Now given way to Fall’s coolness

Red orange and yellow set against a blue sky
Holding on to the beauty for a breath
Until winds come to leave the trees bare

Stark limbs empty silhouettes
Seen on a twilight sky horizon
Awaiting a snowy touch to soften their lines

Limbs pierced with icicle earrings
Dressed in snowy white capes
Dance with the northern wind

Brilliant sparkles of diamond ice
Natures jewelry adornment
Worn in attendance at a midnight winter ball

In frozen anticipation branches await
The glory of Spring’s awakening
Floral apparel in colors of pink and white
